Speaking Out and Night

Just think that one word could save millions of people's lives.  People underestimate the power of speaking out.  The Holocaust could of been prevented or not as tragic if someone just stood up for what was right.  Elie Wiesel argued that "action is the only remedy to indifference, the most insidious danger of all" (Night 120).  Showing the importance of action, but in Night by Elie Wiesel, they are treated horrible in concentration camps and there is  a lack of action because they were all to scared.  No one says anything so the killing continues and it is finally stopped when the outside countries finally speak out and stop the Holocaust.  North Korean citizens are the same way.  They are to scared to speak out and say that they have the right to know the information restricted by the government.  That means the government can manipulate the citizens in any way they want.  An article about two North Koreans that escaped and swam to China stated "TV documentaries are on mainly to educate" and "it makes you believe that North Korea is the best country in the world" ("North Korean Defectors Speak Out" 1).  Showing how the higher power manipulated them and no one said anything against it.  The higher power will not stop until someone speaks out.  No one spoke out for the Holocaust until the damage was horrific.  Lets make sure history doesn't repeats itself.  As a citizen with human rights, their is a responsibility to speak out.  Speaking out can have such a great impact that it might in fact save someone's life.
